Crysalis IntraOral Therapy for Various Conditions:
Kate's Crysalis Touch IntraOral Therapy (CIOT) is geared for treatment of many conditions. The most common is for the following types of issues:
  • Migraines - both mostly or poorly controlled through medication or other medical interventions
  • Facial sinus pain
  • TMJ - Often when you are not responding to other conventional therapies such as bite guards, intraoral treatment can help to modify the cranial musculature and bone systems to allow for your other medical interventions to work more efficiently.
  • Whiplash - this can be caused by small events or more severe cases such as car accidents or severe falls.
  • Ringing in the Ears - this can be caused by inner jaw or cranial muscle tension and is often mitigated / resolved by massage &/or intraoral therapy.
Concussion Injury - issues such as these note above (and other) often arise weeks or months after initial trauma. Or they may wait years after injury and have their root cause in untreated concussion injury. Seeking correct treatment at the time of injury is vital. IntaOral assessment and treatment Kate feels is vital in the correction of concussion caused issues early after injury. If the cranial muscles can be released and any structural pressures on the joints corrected - future issues my be stopped from becoming full medical conditions by preventing the original underlying structural anomaly from occurring.
Remember that consciousness is not the determiner of injury with concussion force trauma.

Other issues may be combined with neck and shoulder muscle pain and tension. CIOT can be introduced into a therapy session when it's felt that you may see valid benefit by the additional type of therapy.

Crysalis IntraOral Therapy is, like with massage, an intimate form of work. There are some things to remember when considering or receiving this type.
Due to the area being worked being so central to our neurlogical / mental center, there are "no holds barred" for 72 hours after a session. Meaning that you may experience periods of high Joy as well as times of what feels like irrational crying. Nothing is illogical. NOTHING. Remember - this work also is at the level of the 6th Chakra -- our vocal center. So "speaking our truth" if that has been an issue - well may not be as much of an issue. It's also affecting the 3rd eye and crown chakras as we move the muscles and bones of the full head and face.

We will develop signals for use during a session for things like:
    I need to swallow
    I need to stop
    I need to sit up
    That freaks me out!
    etc.

Though the body will want to "sleep" during CIOT work, I will often bring you back to present because I do not want to have a body reaction take you by surprise. That is how *I* avoid getting bitten.
We are always willing to speak with your TMJ, pain or migraine specialist when we are considering the addition of CIOT work to your treatment. It helps them to know when you have added another therapy layer to the treatment they are providing so that they can make sure and track your progress across all care services you are using.
